Product Overview
This one comes growling out of the DIY archives to bite your face off.
This circuit was put together by Branimir Bozak over at DIYStompBoxes, and is based on another DIY project by Paul Nelson - the Citrus Graphic Mk2. The latter aimed to recreat the tone and response of Orange amps, so it was a small step to turn the circuit Green. Rumour has it the same circuit is used in the Midnight Amplification™ Holy Mountain©, but we can't confirm that.
Of course, you aren't going to get a GT200 in your Fender Sidekick, but if you're looking to recreate the characteristic growl of a Green head this is a good place to start.
We've designed the PCB to take through-hole or SMT FETs, as through-hole are getting more scarce. SMT parts aren't exactly simple to work with, so you need to be confident in your abilities before tackling them.
You'll need a mutimeter to bias the FETs properly.
The kit is supplied with vertical-mount pots which have round shafts, so you'll need set-screw fitting knobs.
